Bush: A mature bush can reach 1.5–2 m in height. It is dense and compact in structure and requires regular and intensive pruning to achieve higher productivity and better fruit quality. The leaves are elliptical, smooth, green with a slight bluish tint.
Berries: Compared to other varieties, the fruits are small, with a diameter of 11–15 mm. They have a pleasant sweet-and-sour taste. The berries separate easily from the cluster, leaving a dry scar. The fruit color is deep blue. The firm and dense skin ensures high transportability. The yield of an adult Elliott bush can reach 6–7 kg, with 60–80% of the crop harvested in the first picking. Harvesting can be done both manually and mechanically.
A key feature of the Elliott blueberry variety is its excellent storage capacity: fresh, refrigerated berries can be stored for over a month without losing quality or properties.
Soil: Before planting Elliott blueberry seedlings, it is important to choose and prepare the site. It should be sunny, sheltered from wind, with loose soil that allows good air and moisture permeability. The recommended soil acidity is pH 3.5–4.5. Avoid planting near trees or tall shrubs to ensure good sunlight exposure, which is important for sweetness and proper ripening. Planting can be done in both spring and autumn.
Care: A critical factor in growing Elliott blueberries is preventing root drying. After planting, water the plants twice a week for the first month, using 5–7 liters of water per plant. At the same time, avoid waterlogging. Later, watering can be reduced to once a week.
