Hydrangea Diamond Rouge is a paniculate variety with a compact, upright growth form. An adult bush reaches 1.2–1.5 m in height and about 1.0–1.2 m in width. The shoots are strong, hold the inflorescences well without a garter, the bush retains an even and compact shape throughout the season. The variety is suitable for both private plots and commercial cultivation.
Conical inflorescences, dense, 25–35 cm long. At the beginning of flowering, the flowers are white, gradually turn pink over time and by the end of the season acquire a rich dark red hue. The color change occurs evenly throughout the flowering period and is well manifested even in regions with a temperate summer. Flowering lasts from July to September, stable and abundant.
Sunny areas or light partial shade are suitable for growing; in the sun, the color of the inflorescences becomes deeper. The soil is desirable fertile, acidic or slightly acidic, with good drainage. Watering is regular, without waterlogging. Frost resistance to -30 ° C allows the variety to be grown without shelter in most regions of Ukraine.
